A 17-year-old pregnant girl was pronounced dead Thursday after she was found shot in the head in a Chicago suburb on Christmas Day. Her baby, however, survived.
Police said the teen was found shot between two houses in the 1100 block of East 152nd Street in south suburban Dolton. She was 26 weeks pregnant, according to authorities.
The girl was transported to St. Margaret’s Hospitals and later transferred to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, Chief John Franklin with the Dolton Police Department said.
The teen was pronounced dead Thursday morning, but her baby survived the shooting.
South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force is investigating leads in the shooting, police said.
